Those in attendance: Larry Hoffman, Tom Sarko, Jim Kimball, Hans Heynau, Eleanor Harris, Jay Albert, Sam
Storch, Bob Guzauskas, Joe Ianni, Juanita (with two guests), Myself and guest Tim Cooke.
Forecast for the night was supposed to be “perfect”. At sunset, a scattered cloud cover moved in.
Potential stars for alignment and set up such as Polaris, Arcturus, Spica and Sirius where playing hide-andseek
as the clouds drifted by. Eventually, the skies started to clear. Jupiter was high overhead with all 4
moons clearly visible. Later in the session, we observed Mars rising followed shortly by Saturn. Hans,
Larry and Bob where all busy photographing various deep sky objects as the others toured the sky on
the many clusters, doubles, and galaxies available. Omega Centuri even made its appearance. As the
night went on, the temperature dropped gradually, keeping the mosquitoes at bay. We finally took down
and packed up at Midnight!
